Perth, Western Australia is the city pictured above. This is the city where the entire family of my dad lives. If you were to drill a hole through the center of the earth and come out the other end, the closest city to be near you (if you live in the Northeast section of North America) would be Perth. After 36 hours in flight, my parents finally arrived in Perth recently for a six month long stay. Now that my parents are gone, it is sometimes hard to stay connected. However, today we have more technology than ever for just this. This morning I used a popular instant messenger/web messenger program called "Skype" to have a video conversation with my parents. It is remarkable that I can know someone on the other side of the Earth, and I can still have a face to face conversation with them pretty much whenever I want. The best thing about skype, its free!! Skype has really had a big impact on the way I communicate on a daily basis.
