Conficker???

Conficker???

Sunday night, after watching UNC defeat Oklahoma in the march madness tournement, I watched 60 Minutes. This week, they were doing reports on Lebron James, the poisoning of lions in Kenya, and the Conficker virus. The Conficker virus is an intrenet bug that has already infected millions of computers globally. The virus was first detected in October, 2008 and targets the Windows operating systems from Windows 2000 up. The internet has been hit with a lot of viruses over the years. Thousands are put online everyday. So why is it that Conficker is raising so much concern??? It turns out that Conficker uses a advanced version of malware techniques that our law enforcement people can not match. This means that we are just simply outmatched by these hackers. Globally the virus is set to be idle until April 1st, 2009 where it will recieve further instructions. It potnentially could be used to hack into our back accounts or even to just clog up the internet with spam. Either case, the scariest part about the whole thing is that there is no way to prep ourselves since we do not know what it does. We just have to wait for April 1st to hit, and see what happens.
